SIS: Gradebook - Daily Score Setup

Overview

Daily Score (Work Ethic) grades can be recorded in one of two ways:
  1. Attendance-Based Daily Score – Record Daily Score values in the attendance roster and automatically transfer them to a designated gradebook category. This option does not require gradebook assignments.
  2. Gradebook Assignments – Create daily or weekly assignments and enter Daily Score grades directly in the gradebook.

Attendance-Based Daily Score

Option 1: Record Daily Scores Through Attendance
  1. Open the Gradebook Setup screen.
  2. Configure the Daily Score in the "Other Measures" area of the setup screen.
    1. Select Include to include the Daily Score average in the marking period grade calculation.
    2. Select Display to display the Daily Score category in the gradebook.
    3. Enter the number of points to award for Present attendance.
    4. For attendance values AE, AU, A*, TE, TU, and T*:
      • Enter 0 if you want the system to automatically update the student's Daily Score based on attendance status changes.
      • Enter a value other than 0 to award that specific number of points when the attendance code is selected. When a non-zero value is entered, the Daily Score will not be automatically updated if the attendance code is changed later.
    5. Enter the Weight of the Daily Score category as it applies to the marking period average.
    6. Enter the Max Points, which represents the total possible Daily Score points that can be earned for a single day.
  3. Save your changes.
Once configured, Daily Scores can be entered in the attendance roster and will automatically transfer to the designated Daily Score category in the gradebook.

Gradebook Assignments

Option 2: Record Daily Scores Through Gradebook Assignments
  1. Open the Gradebook Setup screen.
  2. Create a Daily Score category.
  3. Add assignments to the category as needed.
  4. Enter Daily Score or Work Ethic grades for each assignment.
Use this option if you prefer to track Daily Score grades through assignments rather than attendance.
