SIS: Transfer Marking Period Average to New Class/Section
The Drop/Add/Merge procedure moves only POSTED Marking Period grades and CTC Task Grades (if POS is the same).
If a student moves to a new class/section mid marking period, you may want to move the running Marking Period Average to the new class/section.
To do so, follow the steps below.
- Take note of the student's MPA in the dropped class.
- Create an assignment in the newly added class/section using a descriptive name (i.e. T. Lawson's Transferred Grade).
- Choose the most relevant category, use 100 possible points, and Exclude ALL other students in the class.
- Enter the student's MPA from the dropped class in the grade cell of the new assignment.

This assignment will not show on the portal or reports for the excluded students.
