By default:
Past due assignments do not affect the student's Marking Period Average (MPA).
Past due assignments appear on Missing Marks reports.
The Gradebook Settings screen can be used to automatically count past due assignments as a zero.
When this setting is enabled:
At midnight following the assignment due date, unscored assignments become past due.
The assignment is counted as a zero in the student's Marking Period Average.
Example: An assignment due on 1/1/2026 with no score entered will begin counting as a zero after midnight and may lower the student's average.
