Gradebook templates allow you to create a master gradebook that can be applied to one or more classes each school year. Templates save time by reusing categories, assignments, and other grading setup items.

Open the gradebook.
Click Setup.
Select Save as Template.
Enter a template name.
Click Save.
Categories
Assignments
Other Measures: Daily Score
Tip: Include the marking period or course name in the template name for easy identification.

Click Templates.
Select the template you want to edit.
Make your changes and save.
Update assignment Due Dates and Publish Dates so they fall within the new marking period dates.
For example, if a template was created in the 2025-2026 school year and will be used in 2026-2027, update the assignment due dates before applying the template.
Note: Assignment due dates can be adjusted in the gradebook or template after the template is applied to a gradebook.

Important: All category weights should total 100%.
Example:
Skills = 33%
Knowledge = 33%
Daily Score = 34%
Use Save As to create a new template based on an existing one.

Click Apply.
Select the class.
Click Save.
Assignments added to a template:
Automatically appear in all gradebooks linked to that template.
Remain part of the template for future school years.
Assignments added directly to a gradebook:
Appear only in that gradebook.
Are not added to the template.
Will not be available when the template is reused.
