SmartSub: How Regular Staff Accept the SmartSub Invitation

Once invited (automatically or manually), staff must accept and activate their SmartSub membership. 

1. Open the SmartSub Invitation Email 

Staff should: 

·       Go to the email inbox associated with their employment record.

·       Look for an email titled “SmartSub User Invitation.” 


Open the message and click View Invitation.


 

2. Register for SmartSub (First‑Time Users) 

They will be taken to the SmartSub login page. 

Click Sign Up and enter: 




            

·       First Name 

·       Last Name 

·       Email Address 

·       Password (must meet SmartSub requirements: 8 characters, symbol, uppercase, lowercase)  

Click Register



3. You’re Invited! 

Click Accept  



4. Verify Email & Notification Settings 

Staff must verify their contact info to receive SmartSub notifications. 

Steps (mirroring substitute workflow): 

Click Go To Notification Methods


Click Verify next to their email. 



Staff will receive another email requesting them to verify their email. Click View In App. You may be prompted to login.



Opt in to email notifications


a.     When you click the link in the verification email, the screen below will display
b.   Check the following boxes and click Save



Continue editing notification methods. To add a phone number click Add



 


Enter the number and click Save


Staff will then need to verify the phone number by clicking Verify



a.   Receive a verification code 

b.   Enter the code 

                                  c.   Opt In to receive text alerts 




Optional: Mark the preferred notification method
